Sunna Juhn

Sunna Juhn – Editor

Meticulous editor with copyediting, proofreading, and development experience in short prose and literary and academic non-fiction.

Overview

Hello! Are you looking for another set of eyes to proofread your book proposal or story submission? Or maybe you're in search of some copyediting assistance? If your answer to either/both is yes, I'd love to help you out!

I have experience working in both literary and academic publishing, in Production/Editorial and Acquisitions capacities. I've proofread essays and stories for environmental quarterly Orion Magazine, selected and proofread submissions for literary magazine The Common, and copyedited manuscripts and marketing materials at independent academic publisher Markus Wiener Publishers. I have also developmentally edited some manuscripts at Stanford University Press (on their Sociology, Anthropology, Law, and Asian Studies lists). Whether your writing is intended for a university press or a literary outlet, I'm well versed in the specificities of each and can help you make your work stand out.

As an editor, I see my job as one where I make suggestions that could enhance what you've already put on the page. I believe a flexible approach like this one is generative and respectful of your ideas as the author. If this working style sounds agreeable to you, please feel free to reach out. I'm excited to get to know you and your work!
