Sunaina Narang

Sunaina Narang – Editor

I'm an editor with 20 years experience of the Indian publishing industry. I have edited fiction and non fiction on a wide range of subjects.

Overview

I have been a part of the Indian publishing business since 2006. While my forte lies in fiction and non- fiction books I have also worked on coffee table books. I have extensive experience in all aspects of book publishing: sales, marketing, commissioning, editing. I have an in-depth understanding of content across all genres with the ability to assess commercial viability of any book/manuscript. I am well networked with most trade publishers in India. I am a multi-tasker with excellent communication skills. I do not limit myself to the publishing space. I have also worked with organizations which require help with content for their websites/brochures/reports. I am currently working with an educational research organization doing just that. I am also fluent in French and have worked for the French Cultural Centre in New Delhi and helped them with translation from French into English. By nature I am adaptable and willing to learn.

In the past I have helped authors self-publish, handling all aspects of publishing a book from editing/proofreading the manuscript, working on the design/layout, handling the typsesetting/printing and working with distributors. I am able provide that service. I will of course adapt to the author’s/organization’s requirements. If it’s just basic edit/structuring required I can do that. If it’s fact-checking and proofreading I can do that. It depends on the requirement. I can also create content for websites, journals, magazines. I am a happy, chatty person and would like to ensure that the person I am working with is happy with the outcome of my work. I love people and traveling the world. As a child, I remember the thrill of acquiring a new book and inhaling its crispy scent. This has always been my one true passion -- the process of being a part of bringing a book to life!
