Stacey Nicholls

Stacey Nicholls – Web Developer

I meld creativity with precision, crafting visually compelling author websites designed with clear messaging to help you reach your goals.

Overview

When I work with clients, it's more than a transactional process. I want to get to know everything about you, your process, your goals, and what makes you tick. All of this helps me become your biggest cheerleader as I create a custom website designed to help you meet your goals.

It's a 3-week process to design a custom website for you. First we have a discovery call to make sure we're a good fit, then I'll share some content planners so you don't have to worry about blinking-cursor syndrome (the bane of writers!). Once you fill out the content planners, share your branding and images, I'll get to work creating a custom website for you. I'll start with the homepage to make sure we're aligned on style, colors, vibe, and layout, then build out the additional pages once the homepage is approved.

I've always been a creative nerd - my background in photography and graphic design has led me to website design where I can nerd out on projects that I love. Working with authors allows me to scratch a creative itch that I can't reach when working with other small businesses. I love to read fantasy, fiction, and biography (really any book with pages) and that translates to the projects and authors I want to work with.

I help small businesses and authors connect to their target audience through intentional website design and clear messaging.

Projects

E.H. Gaskins

E.H. Gaskins was launching his debut novel, Rattle Man. He needed a website that embodied the feel of his novel, so there wasn’t a disconnect between his writing to his online presence. Since his novel is a space opera, it gave a lot of room for bold, dramatic colors and design.

To help grow his readership and following, the website is linked to the Amazon listing for easy purchasing. We also included a newsletter sign up form so people can keep up to date with E.H. Gaskins new releases and updates.

Wild Heart Health

Shannon Darling, the holistic mental health practitioner behind the practice, is seriously passionate about providing comprehensive mental health care for women, children, and adolescents. She's all about the kind of holistic, integrated approach that really makes a difference in people's lives.

As a web designer, I was thrilled to help her build a website that truly represents her mission. We wanted to create a space online that was informative, welcoming, and easy to navigate, so that anyone searching for the support they need could find it with ease. Shannon's commitment to providing holistic care for her clients is truly inspiring, and I wanted to make sure that her website reflected her vision in the most positive light.

Kimberlea Smarr

Kimberlea Smarr is a yoga instructor, making a pivot to working with clients in a wellness space with Yoga as Medicine and offering wellness mentorships. Her website needed to be updated to start to pull the emphasis off of yoga practices and begin to speak to the wellness space.

Kim wanted to keep her online yoga studio a prominent part of the site, since that is how she connects with so many of her clients. While her wellness mentorship isn’t fully launched, we laid the groundwork for this pivot by including it in the main navigation, with information about how she works and her knowledge about how the body and mind work together.

Watson in Homes

Watson in Homes does custom upholstery, custom window treatments, and other custom soft goods for the home. As a generational family-owned business, they want to begin to target a luxury market. We redesigned their logo to have a luxury style and continued that idea onto their website. The custom website is a match to the custom nature of their work, with lots of space and breathing room around the different website elements.

To highlight the work, we utilized galleries that are organized by project type - upholstery, window treatments, and custom creations. This helps a potential client view the most relevant work. Watson in Homes meets with potential clients by appointment only, so we may sure to include multiple ways for a client to contact them.
