Overview
Over two decades ago, I edited three friends' manuscripts all the way to the New York Times bestselling lists - and that was my first experience editing! I've been a business owner, an award-winning writer, and even a high school Language Arts teacher. I have attended writers' conferences for over ten years, all over the U.S. to learn the best ways to edit and write in order to succeed in the industry.
For more than eighteen years, I have professionally edited all levels, from Editorial Assessment to Proofreading. I'm a detail-oriented person and have been told I catch things no one else has. I'm also a teacher. I will show you what to do to succeed, from fixing pesky errors publishers look for to weed out writers to filling plot holes you didn't know you had, along with helping with characters whose traits may be unbecoming of a hero/heroine, and aiding with anything else standing in the way of you getting published. Many writers get tossed aside simply because they didn't know what publishers wanted -- and spoiler alert -- they will never tell you. Most are just too busy. But I will.
I specialize in cozy mysteries and sci fi, but I have experience in romance, comedy, edgy mystery, thrillers, and other mainstream fiction. Don't beat your head against a wall trying to figure out what agents and publishers want - I have built the experience to help you in ways few editors can! See below for book covers of some of my more recent (and some not so-recent) published authors.

Work experience
Self-employed
As a young woman, I wrote articles for ten+ years for marketing companies and a family-owned eatery. I also owned a graphic design/marketing company called Graphicomm, making $175/hour. Raising two children with rare medical needs, I sold my high-stress business.
I met three lovely ladies on their way to getting published and enjoyed editing their books, helping them become New York Times Best-Sellers. I also wrote five of my own novels and am published in an anthology. With a Master's in Education, I taught English, Creative Writing, Social Studies, Career Enhancement, Edgenuity, and Cross-Content Art to at-risk teens.
My true roots are in editing, and I'm back to helping people bring out the best in their stories to get published. I have experience in Cozy Mystery, Mystery Series, Romantic Comedy, Science Fiction, Dystopian, Sci Fi Romance, Women's Fiction, Comedy Fiction, Magical Reality, Middle Grade Fiction, Horror, and more.
