Once upon a time, I edited three friends' manuscripts all the way to the New York Times bestselling lists - and that was my first experience editing! I've been a business owner, an award-winning author, and even a high school language arts teacher. I have attended writers' conferences all over the U.S. to learn the best way to edit and write, working as an assistant to authors and speakers. I have edited manuscripts from home over the past twelve years and have seen every single book get published.

Work experience

January, 2010 – Present (over 12 years)

I have been editing since 2010, and before that, I wrote articles for over ten years for marketing companies and my ex-husband's restaurant. I met three lovely ladies on their way to getting published and I enjoyed editing their books. I also wrote five of my own and am published in an anthology, A Mother's Wisdom (sort of a Chicken Soup for the Soul book for mothers). When my editing slowed down, I went back to get my Master's in Education and recently ended up teaching English to at-risk teens in high school. However, my true roots are in editing and I am back to doing what I love best - helping people bring out the best in their writing so they can get published.

Stacey provided honest, constructive feedback on my manuscript which helped me create a stronger story. She produced her report in a timely manner and answered queries within a day or two. It felt very easy to work with her. (For writers working with people from another country, I would recommend stating upfront what language and style guide you are working with. For example, I use Australia...

Stacey was thorough, knowledgeable, and supportive as we worked through my manuscript. She gave me many helpful suggestions for improvement in certain sections of the work, and helped me to see my story from the eyes of the reader. Along with tips on changes I might want to make, she gave me occasional "atta boys," when she found something that worked. I'm a novice writer and these were word...
