Shuli Branson

Shuli Branson – Editor

Developmental editor helping you seize the core of your project and bring it to its maximal impact.

Overview

Most writers hit a stage in their project where they have put it all out on the page, but know that they can take another step in bringing the project to next level. That's where I come in, an editor who can see the full promise of the project and help you deepen what is already on the page.

Starting from author's concerns, I bring my own trained eye for structure and content to provide a holistic pathway towards manuscript development. Open communication through the process is essential, as new questions arise that we fold back into further development. At the end of the process, my clients hold in their hands a manuscript that reflects everything they knew they had to begin with but with a firmer, more explicit structure..

My varied experience in different fields and genres of writing gives me a sensitive eye for form, conceptual/theoretical work, and style. I have been working closely with writers in all stages of essay and book projects for over 15 years. I specialize in radical movements, feminism, and trans/queer studies and have a PhD in literature and philosophy. But I have also worked with sociologists, anthropologists, and more. In addition to attentive, careful editing, I bring kindness and generosity to each project. Working closely with writers to realize their vision and to bring new books into world is a true joy!
