Overview
At its core, my work as an editor—informed by my graduate study in political theory—is focused on helping scholars, journalists, activists, and other specialists translate and distill their expertise into serious works of nonfiction accessible to a general trade audience.
My role as an editor is to be an author's first reader and most zealous advocate. Above all else, my goal is to help authors create the strongest possible versions of their projects. In the world of political nonfiction, this work entails close attention to honing arguments and shaping narrative structure to ensure that each book is well-positioned to make an effective and meaningful intervention into contemporary conversations and debates.

The New Press
I worked as an acquisitions editor focused on helping scholars and other specialists translate and distill their expertise into serious works of nonfiction accessible to a general trade audience. Specifically, I developed, acquired, edited, and participated in all other aspects of the maintenance and expansion of a growing, diverse list of serious nonfiction spanning the social sciences and adjacent fields.
Vera Institute of Justice
I proofread, copyedited, cite-checked, and formatted a wide range of content for a major criminal justice reform nonprofit, including fact sheets, blog posts, interactive data visualization tools, white papers, and research reports.
Oxford University Press
I worked as an assistant editor in OUP's higher education division working on political science, economics, and finance textbooks. This involved not just copyediting and proofreading, but also the commissioning and development of ancillary media products (e.g. quizzes, review guides, etc.).
