Sheri Quirt

Sheri Quirt – Editor

Copy editor (16 years) of memoir, travel, and cookbooks. Women's solo travel tales a specialty. I respect your voice and can make it shine.

Overview

I have 16 years of professional experience and a true enthusiasm for the art and science of copy editing, giving polish to manuscripts while preserving each author's unique voice. My specialties include memoir, travel literature, and cookbooks. I am also on the lookout for projects on music, pop culture, film, and other entertainment.

I have a longstanding association with ThingsAsian Press, for which I have copy edited numerous memoirs, travel narratives, guidebooks, and cookbooks; titles on regional arts and crafts; and the English translation of a popular six-volume horror/adventure series chronicling the darkly comic exploits of a band of Chinese grave robbers. Pick my brain about Vietnamese street food, artisanal papermaking in Laos, and the bronze tree of death!

With four years' experience in a professional kitchen, I know just what to look for in your cookbook or food memoir to put it over the top.

Getting up close with a manuscript is its own reward for me; I have learned so much from the authors I've worked with who have put their passions down on the page, and I am committed to buffing to a shine each project I take on.
