Sheri Quirt

Sheri Quirt – Editor

Experienced copy editor specializing in memoir, travel, and cookbooks. I respect your voice and can make it shine.

Overview

I have 15 years of professional experience and a true enthusiasm for the art and science of copy editing, giving polish to manuscripts while preserving each author's unique voice. My specialties include memoir, travel literature, and cookbooks. I am also on the lookout for projects on music, pop culture, film, and other entertainment.

I have a longstanding association with ThingsAsian Press, for which I have copy edited numerous memoirs, travel narratives, guidebooks, and cookbooks; titles on regional arts and crafts; and the English translation of a popular six-volume horror/adventure series chronicling the darkly comic exploits of a band of Chinese grave robbers. Pick my brain about Vietnamese street food, artisanal papermaking in Laos, and the bronze tree of death!

With four years' experience in a professional kitchen, I know just what to look for in your cookbook or food memoir to put it over the top.

Getting up close with a manuscript is its own reward for me; I have learned so much from the authors I've worked with who have put their passions down on the page, and I am committed to buffing to a shine each project I take on.

I am so happy to have worked with Sheri, the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Sheri was extremely helpful and professional. My wife, who is the first-time author of the manuscript Sheri copy edited, and I found Sheri to be easy to work with and very thorough. We valued all her comments and accepted all her edits. We feel grateful to have found her on Reedsy and would unconditionally recommend her.
