I never dreamed I’d work with words. I was the sort of student who always opted to take a test rather than write a paper. But then—long story!—I discovered the joys of editing, and I’ve never looked back.

I am a generalist with wide-ranging experience. I started as a magazine editor and then moved to nonfiction book publishing (though I’ve edited a few novels, too, along with newsletters, websites, etc.).

I love the whole sweep of turning an idea or rough manuscript into a finished project. I can handle the 30,000-foot assessment (I write helpful, detailed letters), line editing (I enjoy making every paragraph, line, and word the best it can be), and really annoying copyediting and proofreading nitpicks. I’m a strong communicator with a preference for email over phone, and many writers—first timers and seasoned pros—have appreciated my supportive style.
