As an editor, I have more than 20 years of experience working in book publishing, communications, and e-learning. I have 10 years of book industry experience working as a development editor, copy editor and project manager for publishers such as Perseus Books Group, Elsevier, Wolters Kluwer Health, and David C Cook. In woking at Wolters Kluwer Health, I have performed development editing on titles such as Contemporary Practical/Vocational Nursing by Corinne Kurzen and Fundamental Nursing Skills and Concepts by Barbara Timby, Development editing entails checking clinical content for currency and accuracy, rewording unclear language, reorganizing features and sections of content, and ensuring that complex concepts are thoroughly explained. As a development editor in nursing education, I have also been able to consult with authors on how to handle cultural content and sensitive topics regarding race and ethnicity in health care settings.

I provide development editing, copyediting, and proofreading services for writers who are self-publishing or working with a publisher. I also provide editing services for publishing companies. My specialties include Christian living and curriculum, devotionals, African American history and culture, nursing education (LPN/LVN, BSN, and advanced practice), politics, and history. My digital publishing experience includes copyediting e-learning courseware for nursing instructors and students, which includes assessments, case studies, and simulations.
