Sean Ferrier – Editor

Academic scholar focused on the Humanities with a specialty in continental philosophy. Aims for precision as well as concision.

Overview

I'm an academic scholar in philosophy and the humanities, and have worked in political communications as well. I have broad experience in writing and editing, and have compiled the indexed for three major academic books.

I read and write mainly in continental philosophy, social and political thought, and film and media as well as general humanities and cultural studies. My pretty keen knowledge of the history of western philosophy ("Plato to Nato") has led to some particular experience editing works on early modern philosophy & literature.

As an editor, I strive for a blend of precision and concision, as in my early work was encouraged to adopt to the "Elements of Style".

In addition, I have done a little translation work and taught English as a second language, so am familiar matters of translation and style. I also know German and French, as well as some Dutch.

Sean was great to work with. He returned my work early and complete. His editorial comments were also really helpful. I had a couple of confusing (and annoying) questions about grammar and he sorted them out.
