Scott Balmer – Designer

I am an illustrator who is currently based in Scotland, United Kingdom and have produced numerous illustrations for clients including Google, Affinity, BBC Science Focus, The New York Times, Times Educational Supplement to name a few.I originally come from a city called Dundee which is located on the east side of Scotland which has a colourful history from building the ship the RRS Discovery to being the place where the video game Lemmings was created, all this and more has shaped my creative thinking to what I am today. My work has been described as distinct with a nice texture complimented by carefully selected colours to bring out the overall tone of the illustration while using shapes and compositions to help convey a narrative within it's designAlthough I primarily produce work for editorial publications such as magazines and newspapers my work has a nice feel to it with it's textures and bold colours that would fit nicely on a book cover with it's distinct style and nice feel.I also have another style which is more psychedelic which would work wonders on covers and internal pages which fit a more sci fi feel with its bright colours and surreal landscapes.
