Overview
I’m an experienced and versatile editor, able to tackle all editorial tasks from concept and planning to copy-editing, proofreading and fact checking. I believe in the positive power of words to inform, engage and empower, and am passionate about creating all sorts of interesting, inspiring and inclusive content. I enjoy collaborating and working as part of a team, but am also confident taking the lead or working on my own. I can be as creative or detail-focused as the work demands and am happy to work on big or small projects
I'm hard-working, imaginative and adaptable, and thrive on the variety that my job brings. I specialise in children's non fiction and have a PGCE in Literacy/ESOL. I have also worked on many adult titles, on subjects ranging from beauty to business. I work best when I have a clear idea of who the content is aimed at and get great satisfaction from imagining the positive impact our words might have on the reader.

Scholastic UK
As part of a tiny in-house team, I developed and pitched new licensed, novelty and traditional non fiction book ideas and then managed all stages of book production, from commissioning freelancers and overseeing the creative workflow to checking and approving final files.

I edited, wrote and project-managed a diverse range of licensed and non-licensed projects, from pre-school titles to adult encyclopaedias, and virtually everything else in between. I also maintained strong relationships with key licensors such as LEGO, Pixar, Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel and DC Comics.
