Overview
Hi, I am Sara, a freelance illustrator and designer living in a beautiful valley of the Italian Alps. I create art for people of a wide age range and diverse cultural backgrounds, publishing professionally since 2010.
I graduated in Graphic Arts at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Torino, then specialized in Children’s Book Illustration at the European Institute of Design in the same city. During these years, I received a solid education in traditional and digital art and graphic design.
My experience with remote work is long and happy. My clients are publishers, institutions, companies in the education field, non-profit organizations, and authors based in Italy, the UK, the USA, France, and Australia. I strive to offer a smooth, pleasant collaboration and achieve the best results, offering experience, clear communication, and accurately researched and executed work.
In my career, I had the opportunity to explore a variety of projects.
I illustrated textbooks and other educational publications for leading publishers in Italy, like Giunti Scuola, il Capitello, Raffaello, and the primary regional public institution (Regione Piemonte); I worked long-term with Across Cultures (UK) on their award-winning language learning digital programs, illustrated educational materials for Pearson and MindPlay (USA), and collaborated with an Australian company for kids activity games, a puzzle, promotional books, and e-books. I also worked on two medical publications and four children’s books, including three for self-publishing authors (adventure and fantasy genres and non-fiction).
Since 2018, I have helped local environmental organizations that are active against climate change, taking on graphic design projects and helping with art creation as a volunteer.
With my work, I want to inspire interest, respect, and empathy for humans, animals, and the natural world. My characters and animals show various intensities of playfulness and realism, and I look for engaging immersive atmospheres.
Playing with painted textures and lively lines, I work with gouache painting, colored pencils, graphite, ink, digital media, and vectors. I am proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
I am looking forward to hearing about your beautiful project!
