Overview
Hi, I am Sara, a freelance illustrator and designer living in a beautiful valley of the Italian Alps. I am a versatile artist who creates art for a range of fiction and non-fiction projects, publishing professionally since 2010 and working with international clients.
Who I work with:
I collaborate with publishers, institutions, companies in the education field, non-profit organizations, and self-publishing authors based in Italy, the UK, the USA, France, and Australia. No matter who the client is, I always strive to offer a smooth, pleasant collaboration, offering experience, clear communication, and accurately researched and executed work.
Main projects and clients:
I collaborated on four children’s books, including three for self-publishing authors (adventure and fantasy genres and non-fiction), and worked on a lot of non-fiction publications and digital projects, like school workbooks, medical publications, educational publications for an adult audience, activity games, a puzzle, and digital learning programs. My most important clients are leading publishers in Italy (Giunti Scuola, il Capitello, Raffaello, Regione Piemonte) and other countries (Pearson, MindPlay USA, Across Cultures UK, Editions Anas France)
Education:
I graduated in Graphic Arts at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Torino, then specialized in Children’s Book Illustration at the European Institute of Design in the same city. During these years, I received a solid education in traditional and digital art and graphic design.
Side projects:
Since 2018, I have helped local environmental organizations that are active against climate change, taking on graphic design projects and helping with art creation as a volunteer.
Style and goals:
With my work, I want to inspire interest, respect, and empathy for humans, animals, and the natural world. For this reason, my characters and animals show various intensities of playfulness and realism.
Playing with painted textures and lively lines, I work with watercolours, gouache, colored pencils, graphite, ink, digital media, and vectors. I make excellent use of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
I'm always looking for significant books to illustrate! Please get in touch and let's chat about your beautiful project.
