George Roberts – Designer

Hey! I’m George, an illustrator and 2D animator based in Chester, North Wales. I’ve been drawing since I was two, back then it was mostly crayons, now it’s more pixels and pencils.

After over a decade animating for renowned British and Irish clients, I’ve focused on personal illustration, building a curated portfolio that brings my own stories and visions to life. While I’m new to professional children’s books, my background in animation and storytelling helps me create engaging, character-driven illustrations that capture imagination.

I primarily draw with mechanical pencils, scanning and digitally coloring each piece to preserve the tactile, organic feel of pencil on paper while enjoying the flexibility of digital tools. My illustrations focus on characters and places that are a little mysterious, a little whimsical, and entirely hand-drawn.
