Rebecca Maker – Editor

Hello! I’m Rebecca, a developmental editor, copy editor, and proofreader with over fifteen years of experience at Penguin Random House and Guideposts Books. I’ve worked on books as varied as non-fiction reference to travel guides to first-person essay and memoir.

I love working with writers to achieve their vision—whether that is by offering guidance at a developmental level or working at a micro one to spot inconsistencies and make sure every sentence is error-free.

Since 2012, I have been offering editorial services on a freelance basis. The writers I have worked with say that I’m perceptive, kind, encouraging, and insightful. It’s a joyful and rewarding experience to work with writers to help them polish and refine their written words.
