An experienced food editor and proofreader with expertise in illustrated book publishing, most notably the Lantern imprint at Penguin Books. Passionate about the publishing process from manuscript assessment through to structural and copy editing, I love working collaboratively with designers and production teams to ensure that each title retains its own distinct character. Freelance food editor and proofreader for publishers including Pan Macmillan, Murdoch Books, Hardie Grant, Bonnier, Smith Street Books and Penguin Books. I also work with self-publishing authors.

• Edit manuscripts and proofread page proofs according to specific house styles.
• Correct pages and copy-fit text onscreen using InDesign, or mark up hard copy for typesetter.
• Maintain a high standard of quality across various publishers’ requirements, styles and schedules.

• Ensure all deadlines are met even when schedules overlap.

Edited and managed a range of illustrated books to a high publishing standard. Responsible for taking books through all stages of production, including initial assessment of the manuscript, structural and copy editing, working closely with the author and in-house design and production departments, and ensuring each book remained on schedule and on budget.
