Alexandra P. – Designer

Book cover designer specializing in eye-catching and highly marketable cover designs for fantasy and sci-fi genres.

Overview

Hi! My name is Alexandra and I'm a book cover designer specializing in several Fantasy and Sci-fi genres. With more than 10 years of experience in the creative industry as a graphic designer, I’ve entered the world of book cover design a few years ago and I’ve had the pleasure of working with indie bestselling authors and publishing houses on a variety of different projects.

My goal is to create covers that attract the right readers by being an on-trend visual representation of the story inside and help them become immersed in the world you created in your book. Using a combination of photo manipulation, matte painting, illustration and 3D modeling I strive to design a beautiful piece of art for each cover. I am a versatile and meticulous artist and look forward to working with you!

Please don't hesitate to ask questions or for a quote! Even if you aren’t sure, feel free to get in touch and see if I am a good fit for you. I look forward to your request!

Alexandra's work exceeded my expectations! She is so amazing at what she does, and I am in awe of her work. Her responsiveness was stunted due to unforeseen health circumstances, and while that delayed her timeliness, the quality of work was impeccable.

Balancing creativity with an author’s vision starts with communication. Over the years, I’ve learned that when authors share a “vision” for their cover, it’s often more of an idea than a fully formed visual. Sometimes it doesn’t yet account for market trends or genre-specific expectations, which ...

Is it worth paying extra for a custom design instead of a premade cover?

Unless you find a premade cover that perfectly fits your story, it’s worth investing in a custom design. Premade covers are usually created to appeal to a broad genre and a pool of tropes, which helps them sell but often relies on visual cues that have been used over and over. The risk is that ...

What software and tools are commonly used by book cover designers to create professional-quality designs?

Most book cover designers rely on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, which handle everything from photo editing, digital painting, and typography to layout and print-ready files. I also use 3D software like Blender and ZBrush, and occasionally Procreate when I need a slightly different...
