Emily Plank

Emily Plank – Translator

Experienced translator with a strong interest in and passion for literature, working from German into English since 2006

Overview

I am a professional freelance translator with 17+ years' experience in translating both literary and non-literary texts from German into English for clients all over the world. My commitment to upholding the high standards of the translation-services industry is further underlined by the fact that I have achieved Qualified Status for ISO 17100:2015.

I am passionate about language and literature, and also have some writing experience of my own - having additionally worked as a sports journalist and travel & lifestyle writer.

In terms of literary-translation experience, my previous projects have so far included travel guides, historical non-fiction and luxury coffee-table publications, though I am very much open and keen to translate fiction as well.
