Overview
I write and publish two successful cosy mysteries series, several titles of which have been best-sellers in competitive categories, including Cozy Mystery (on more than one occasion narrowly and briefly beating Richard Osman).
My books are also manor-house comedies of manners, so I’ve had to learn quite a bit about expressing an original voice while colouring inside the lines, and of positioning a book for success.
I paid my way through cosy mystery school as a ghost writer of Romance, Western, Cosy, Noir, and non-fiction. In addition to my own comedy-mysteries, I’ve ghost-written over thirty novels, including…
- A successful romantic comedy series, thematically connected by main characters who are subtle and clever criminals.
- Four entries in a long-running Victorian Romance series, the highest rated (with over a thousand ratings) of which was mine.
- A series of Louis L’Amour style, roustabout Westerns.
- Outlines for a genre publisher of Victorian, Amish, and Contemporary Romance.
- A zombie tale written in the style of Raymond Chandler.
My ideal client needs a book in an accessible, literary, humorous style written to a definable market, but I confess to a taste and talent for mimicry.
I don’t just say that I know what it takes to write a best-seller, I’ve done it. I hope you’ll let me show you how.
