Overview
For many years, I had been writing in-depth feature stories for top national magazines – The New York Times magazine, Fortune, GQ, Esquire, Outside, Men’s Journal, Money, Details, and others – when I decided to approach Kip Tindell, co-founder of The Container Store, about collaborating with him to write his remarkable story of turning a little shop in Dallas into a beloved national brand.
We clicked and the result was UNCONTAINABLE (Hachette, 2014), "the best book about corporate culture in a decade" (Inc.com) and one of "5 best business books" (Fortune). Herb Kelleher, co-founder of Southwest Airlines, called it “One of the great entrepreneurial and humanistic adventures in business history."
Next came INDULGE YOUR SENSES: Scaling Intimacy in a Digital World (Post Hill Press, 2019) with City Winery founder and CEO Michael Dorf. Former AOL CEO Steve Case praised the book as "a gripping tale from an insider in the New York rock and jazz world during a period of massive technological change.”
Other ghostwriting clients (work done anonymously) include the CEO of a Fortune 500 healthcare company, the president of one of America’s most venerable environmental organizations, and a charismatic superintendent who turned around a struggling school district.
I also play trumpet with the Blue Soul Jazz Quartet and try to keep up with my energetic family - my wife, the professional Latin ballroom champion Tatiana Keegan, and our teenage daughter.
