Olivia Funderburg – Editor

Developing literature-based education products, reporting to three Editorial Directors. Writing and editing picture books for grades K-2, selecting and evaluating novels for grades 3-6, and editing teaching materials for grades K-6 (reading comprehension, social and emotional learning, writing, and phonics).

Intern with Greenwillow Books & the Early Childhood Group, reporting to one Assistant Editor and one Editorial Assistant. Evaluating submissions and preparing reader’s reports; reviewing acquired manuscripts and preparing editorial notes. Writing selling and jacket copy. Reviewing proofs, mechanicals, art. Attending Managing Editorial, Production, Design, and Marketing meetings.

Editor-in-Chief of Wellesley College's student-run journal of campus life. Responsibilities included copyediting and proofreading the monthly magazine prior to printing and managing a team of up to thirty student editors and designers.

Research Assistant: The Slavemaster of Trinidad (University of Massachusetts Press, 2018). Teaching Assistant, Black Women Writers, Spring 2018: created lecture slides, kept records for 30 undergraduate students, taught course session on The Hate U Give (HarperCollins, 2018).
