Nora Rawn

Nora Rawn – Editor

I've worked in publishing for almost twenty years, and I adore editing practical non-fiction. Let me be your book doula!

Overview

I am passionate about helping support an author's vision come to life. I especially love editing non-fiction, and advice and self-help in every genre is my specialty--a sample book I worked on was "Breaking Up and Bouncing Back" by Samantha Burns. Some favorite reads in the genre for me are "Loving What Is" by Byron Katie, "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron, "Calling In the One" by Katherine Woodward Thomas, and "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk, among many others. I'm into tarot and the more woo-woo side of things also. Practical, empathetic, helpful, relatable books are my delight!I love working on helping an author's voice come through and guiding them in the process of edits! Both line edits and developmental edits are my forte, and I will be your biggest cheerleader--while constantly deploying the dreaded compliment sandwich, which I simply can't wrest myself away from. I try to support a writer's vision and be their pep talk-giver, while noting places that the reader might be benefitted by clarifying or adjusting content. Come to me with relationships books, personal finance projects, health and wellness advice, and self-care focused titles of all stripes.
