I've been a book scout and an editor, and I adore the hands-on experience of developmental and line edits in both fiction and non-fiction.

Overview

I've worked on almost every category in fiction and non-fiction at points and am passionate about helping support an author's vision regardless of genre. I especially love non-fiction and advice and self-help is a my specialty--a favorite book I worked on was "Breaking Up and Bouncing Back" by Samantha Burns. Some favorite reads in the genre for me are "Loving What Is" by Byron Katie, "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron, "Calling In the One" by Katherine Woodward Thomas, and "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel van der Kolk, among many others. I'm into tarot and the more woo-woo side of things also. Practical, empathetic, helpful, relatable books are my delight!

I love working on helping an author's voice come through and guiding them in the process of edits! Both line edits and developmental edits are my forte, and I will be your biggest cheerleader--while constantly deploying the dreaded compliment sandwich, which I simply can't wrest myself away from. I try to support a writer's vision and be their pep talk-giver, while noting places that the reader might be benefitted by clarifying or adjusting content. Similarly to parenting, I think you edit the book you have, not the book you wish you had. I've worked in publishing my entire career and hope I can be a good doula for bringing a project into the world!
