I'm a freelance editor and proofreader, specialising in non fiction illustrated books. I enjoy working on books on all kinds of subjects including history, ancient history, step-by-step craft titles, childrens' how-to books and many more. I can project manage, work closely with authors and designers to make the best books and also enjoy copyediting raw text and proofreading. I've worked for a number of well-known publishers in-house including DK, Collins & Brown and Hamlyn. As a freelancer I have recently worked on titles for Quarto, Welbeck Publishing Group and Hinkler.

I worked at DK on a number of projects as part of a large team. These projects included History, Science, Violent Earth, First Aid, Complete Human Body and Eyewitness Guide to Film. The role involved carrying out research and writing copy, commissioning freelance copyeditors and indexers and assessing their work, writing sales copy and attending meetings to report on schedules and progress.
