Overview
I have experience editing manuscripts and query letters to submit to prospective agents as well as with copy-editing and proofreading work. I also run a literary magazine in New York and am a published writer myself with bylines in major literary magazines.
I enjoy working with clients to polish their work and assess it for the publishing market. After a discussion about each client's goals and ambitions for their work, I will provide either an overall structural assessment or detailed line edit as desired. I can also suggest comparative titles ("comps"), which are crucial to situating your work in the market and helping agents and editors pay attention to it.

Work experience
Maria Campbell Associates
As a literary scout, I worked with 24 publishing houses around the world and with a boutique selection of production companies to help them acquire and option work. I read across genres in this role, from literary fiction to celebrity memoir, and cultivated a strong network in the publishing industry.
Thames & Hudson
As a publicist at this art book publisher, I placed coverage in Harper's, The New York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, Hyperallergic, and elsewhere.
Europa Editions
At this boutique publishing house, known for bringing Elena Ferrante to the English-speaking world, I did detailed edits on forthcoming novels, ran publicity campaigns, and read and assessed submissions.
The Frances Goldin Agency
I assisted three senior agents in this role, reading submissions, editing client work, and managing administrative tasks such as contracts, tax forms, and deadlines.
