Michael Dashow – Designer

Hi, I’m Mike, a professional illustrator and designer with several decades of experience creating compelling and colorful illustrations for book covers and games. I’ve worked in book publishing, video games and tabletop games as an Art Director, artist and graphic designer. My books have won awards, my games have been hits, and my work is fun and areas of expertise are children's books (especially middle-grade) and genre fiction (science fiction, fantasy, steampunk etc.) My work is very character-centric, and is known for being fun, colorful, full of personality, and maybe just a tad quirky. I would be excited to bring my experience to help your book cover shine as well!

I love getting the chance to envision the characters and worlds of each author and bring them to life in a compelling and accurate way. If you choose to work with me, I’ll want to read your book and ask you a lot of questions so that we can pull out the right imagery that best represents your story. I am communicative and like to share my sketches and work in progress to make sure we're heading down the right path together. Once we're sure where we're going, I'm also excellent at polishing up my work and giving it a truly professional and memorable finish.

Please note that I am only looking for book cover work (and possibly some occasional interior illustrations.) I am not accepting picture book requests at this time. Thanks for understanding!
