Overview
My entire adult life has been about books. My editing career began with editing anthologies for HarperCollins and Hachette, as well as editing novels for traditionally published authors (with HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, & others). Over time, I branched out to indie published clients.
Over the last 15 years, I have edited novels for full-time writers, edited anthologies with contributions from multiple award-winning and bestselling authors for Big Five publishers, and edited first novels for newer writers finding their voice and place in the market.
I prefer to focus on the big picture and line level edits. For that reason, I do not offer proofreading.
In addition to my writing and editing, I teach writing as part of the faculty in an Master of Fine Arts novel writing program. In my capacity as faculty, I teach classes on the publishing ecosystem, business of publishing, genre, story structure, and supervise the thesis novels of the graduating students. This results in a familiarity with genres as diverse as women's fiction and horror, middle grade fantasy and scorching romantasy, thrillers and contemporary sweet romance. In all cases, my goal is to help the writer's voice and story shine!
In addition to editing and teaching, I have a long career as a bestselling author in children's, teen, and adult fiction.
