Overview
I have an MFA in creative writing focusing on novel craft and an MA in publishing focusing on children's books. For the past three years, I have worked at a small publisher and have worked in marketing, data, and am currently an editor. Young adult is my jam! It has been, and will always be, my favorite genre to read and write. There is just something about the teenage angst that I cannot get enough of! Don't worry I'll mark up where you wrote 'let go of a breath I didn't realize I was holding' so no one rolls their eyes. The only person who should be doing the eye rolling is your main character when their love interest just doesn't get it or when their parents try to step in to be the hero. As an editor, I have worked on both fiction and non-fiction. Some genres I have covered are historical fiction, true crime, paranormal, and history (non-fiction). As a beta reader, I have worked on contemporary, science fiction, and fantasy across all age groups. Classes I took in my graduate programs include the following:-Novel Craft-Constructing the Novel-Workshopping the Novel-School and Library Publishing-Young Adult Literature/workshop-Gothic Literature-Roles of an Editor-Social Media and Branding-Writing the Graphic Novel-Poetry Workshop-Graphic DesignI can't wait to work on your next Work In Progress with you!
