Mark Weinstein

Mark Weinstein – Editor

I'm an experienced (400+ books, many bestsellers) nonfiction editor with a real passion for sports, fitness, health, self-help, and memoir.

Overview

I'm a seasoned editorial professional with twenty years of experience acquiring and editing high-quality nonfiction books, both narrative and practical, in the areas of sports, fitness, health, self-help, history, memoir, diet, pop science, pop business, biography, reference, cooking, and children's.

Some recent successes include the New York Times bestsellers What Doesn't Kill Us by Scott Carney, Liferider
by Laird Hamilton, and Meb for Mortals and 26 Marathons by Meb Keflezighi in addition to Peak Performance
by Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness, which received the 2018 Audie Award for best business/personal development audiobook of the year.

I am a sensitive reader and collaborative editor who believes strongly in the values of mutual trust and open communication as they relate to the author/editor relationship. I have also handled just about every editorial emergency imaginable over the course of my career, so I am not averse to rolling my sleeves up and tackling complicated or problematic projects.

Mark was direct and to the point on my manuscript's editorial assessment, and we did a follow-up call to discuss the feedback. He was on point with areas that I had questions on within my manuscript and offered up great advice on how I could make my story tighter, to the point, where someone could get the value they needed from it - which is my main goal. I'm grateful for the feedback.
