Lucy Ufton – Designer

Hi, I'm Lucy! I'm an Art Director and Designer with five years of experience in the children's publishing industry. I currently work for a publishing house in London where I art direct and design beautifully personalised picture books.

Before working at Wonderbly I studied for a BA Animation where I learned all about storyboarding and character design and an MA Children's Publishing where I applied those creative skills to creating and pitching children's books. Both degrees have helped make me a better, more creative designer.

I love storytelling, beautiful art and design, collaborating with wonderful people, and seeing children's delight when they get to read the wonderful books I help create!

My day to day work includes:

- Art direction on new book concepts

- Working with and briefing illustrators

- Cover design

- Text layout and design

- Page design

- Lettering displays
