Lorraine Raybould – Editor

I have been working as a developmental editor and proofreader for over a decade, across genres and categories such as: women's fiction, book club fiction, thrillers, science fiction, fantasy, young adult and middle grade.

My absolute favourite part of the role is actively working with an author (you!) to understand what you are seeking to achieve with a novel and then help you to bring out the best in your writing. I work all the way from big picture editing, with multiple rounds if required, to a final polish to ensure your novel is ready for publication. I love brainstorming with an author and make it my mission to ensure you feel comfortable and supported through the entire process.

In the past I have worked with a variety of authors, some directly and some via the traditional publishers I count as my clients. I have worked for clients across the world, and while time zones sometimes take a tussle to work out, I am available whenever required to work with a new client!

I count the following publishers among my regular clients: Macmillan Kids (US), Simon & Schuster, Orion (UK),, Solaris Books, Aconyte Books, Heroic Books, and Angry Robot Books.
