Overview

I first started in publishing in 2016, when I helped found a publishing collective to provide pro bono publishing and editing services to new Australian authors, where I focused predominately on young adult fiction. In 2018, I set up my own company, first in Ireland and then in Australia, to provide freelance editorial services to individuals and businesses. This saw me focusing mainly on non-fiction academic and business publications in various formats, including textbooks, anthologies and business reports. In 2019, I joined the team at Scholastic Australia as an editor across the Scholastic Australia and Koala Books imprints, with a focus on picture books, early readers, middle grade and young adult releases. I have a Masters degree in Editing and Publishing.

I take a very collaborative approach to each stage of the editorial process, working with the author to make those vital improvements that embody the tone and spirit of the work and meet the needs of its intended audience. My aim is to support the creator in making their work the very best it can be, and to give the creator the best editorial experience possible by bringing my love of and passion for books to each and every project. I look forward to working with you!

Lorae is a true professional and an expert wordsmith who help me become a better storyteller in the process. I have several other books ready for a copy editor. I hope Lorae will help me with those as she did with the first in the serial.
