Lilith Dorko

Lilith Dorko – Editor

Academic book editor with a decade of experience editing 100+ books in psychology, non-fiction, biography, and the social sciences.

Overview

What does it mean to be a person in the world today? How do we relate to one another? What can be learned from the past? If you're a writer interested in helping readers understand the human condition, I'm your editor!

Over the years I've helped authors develop manuscripts that explore this from any and all angles, including psychology, philosophy, cognitive science, artificial intelligence, biographies, and the social sciences and humanities in general. I'm passionate about the work I do, and deeply enjoy meeting new writers and authors, while paying strict attention to detail and time frames. I also have experience with translation projects, if you are a writer looking to expand your audience!

Authors I've worked with have gone on to see their books published with prestigious academic presses and Big Five publishing houses.

I prefer to work with completed manuscripts, though I am happy to evaluate outlines for editorial guidance.

Author Testimonials:

"I had the wonderful privilege of working with Lilith on my textbook "Training for Change." The textbook is a mix of neuroscience, history, and psychology. Lilith was able to quickly catch my vision, and buoyed the effectiveness of the textbook through editing for clarity and precision. She was able to help me connect my expertise to a wide audience. At the end of the day, having a bright, thoughtful editor is critical in establishing a sophisticated, polished, and useful communication tool - in my case, it was my textbook. I was so moved by Lilith's work, that I have asked for her expert editing for another book I am writing. She will help amplify and edify anything you are writing." --Alisha Moreland-Capiua, MD

" I had the pleasure of working with Lilith on my first book in philosophy and critical theory. She patiently guided me through the process, while also staying laser focused on each task at hand. Correspondences from Llith were always thorough and timely, including her line edit of my book. I would work with Lilith again and strongly recommend her services "--Valerie Oved Giovanini, PhD

Lilith was amazing. She line editing was technical and accurate. Her revisions were insightful and concise. Her ability to track with my voice as an author and then help me bring that out was invaluable. She was flexible and patient and worth every penny.
