Overview
I am a published author and editor with experience in literary, scholarly, and technical publishing. I have managed book projects from initial planning to print publication with a sensitive, supportive approach to editing.
When it comes to fiction, I specialize in contemporary literary fiction and coming of age stories. I am an avid reader of experimental narrative forms as well as more traditional fare. As an author, I have published a book of short stories and a collection of poetry, and am currently writing a novel.
I have fourteen years of experience in the tech world. I worked as a developmental editor for Manning Publications, where I supported authors, chapter by chapter, through their book development process.
More recently I've worked in scholarly publishing, both in-house at McGill-Queen's University Press and on a freelance basis.
Very attentive to detail, I'm known in professional and workshop circles for delivering candid, constructive feedback with empathy and understanding of the writer's project.

Montreal Review of Books
As the publication's associate editor, I curated the book selection for print issues and web content, worked with freelance writers and commissioned reviews and essays, handled structural and copy editing, proofread issues for print, and managed social media and website content.
Manning Publications
As a developmental editor, I worked with technology book authors to create high-quality manuscripts. I coached authors on writing techniques, assisted with chapter planning, provided structural and line editing, and managed book project deadlines according to our publishing schedule.
