Lauren Geber

Lauren Geber – Editor

I am a professional copy editor and writer with a passion for helping others improve their writing through collaboration and workshopping.

Overview

Do you value your writing? Are you looking to improve as a writer? Are you looking for PRACTICAL and VALUABLE ways to do this?

My passion is helping people transform into confident, efficient, and well-versed writers. I’m not here to take your work and simply “fix it”. I’m here to guide you through very tangible and real ways that will provide noticeable growth in your professional life.

As an artist and creator, I am a firm believer that all things improve organically with practice. And while this is still true, many adults hit a proverbial plateau with their writing capabilities. Does this resonate with you?

I have had a love for writing and for leading others within it since high school, where I started and published the school’s first literary magazine. I went on to further curate this passion by studying Editing, Writing, and Media at Florida State University. Since, I have collaborated and served as a leader for online publications such as Her Campus and The Millennial Slacker’s Guide.

But I still didn’t know what I wanted to do.

It took me a very long time to figure out just exactly how I wanted to use my passion. I loved editing and writing, but knew that working for a big publication in a big city was not the environment I was looking for. Basic copy writing or editing as a freelancer seemed more my speed, but there was still something missing. I didn’t just want to feel like I was pumping out content or “fixing” content for people. What’s more was that I really struggled with how to apply my passions; my brain is often warring between the analytical and creative. I can edit for grammar and style like a well-oiled machine but also see writing as a work of art; where breaking the rules and trying something unheard of are integral.

I wanted to feel like I was really helping people become better writers – not just for the piece of writing in front of me but overall! Writing is absolutely crucial for any career field, and being a good writer can launch your professional life into places you may have never even imagined.

Does this sound like something that would be helpful for you? Yay! Getting to work with others to make their visions come to life is the most rewarding part of what I do. I can’t wait to start this journey with you!
