Hi there! I'm Laura, an illustrator and animation filmmaker with a passion for stories and pictures told in a cinematic way.

My work focuses on light, color and storytelling atmosphere, helping authors transform their stories into memorable book covers and immersive illustrated books.

So far, I’ve worked with several indie authors on novels and picture books, and my clients often highlight the collaborative process and the emotional depth of the final illustrations.

Throughout the process I work closely with the author to ensure the illustrations reflect the emotional core of the story while remaining visually striking on the book market.

When I’m not drawing, you’ll probably find me swimming or exploring the sea — which often inspires the atmosphere and light in my work.

GUIDELINES:

In your request please indicate:

-project description and your motivation, story synopsis and visual references

-for covers: please share your initial idea, how many characters should be in the design, and whether you need front or front+back design.

-for full books: please include the amount of illustrations needed, if double or single spreads, and the amount of characters (both primary and secondary)

-output publishing files (EPUB, ready-to-print PDF, hardcover or paperback) and publishing platform of choice.

-I'm also curious to hear why you think I'm a match for your project and what you like from my portfolio.

WORKFLOW:

1) Briefing call

I like to meet my clients in a video call to get to know each other better and hear their vision about the project.

2) Character Design

Where necessary, I will work on a character design sheet for the main characters of your book.

3) Sketches / Storyboard

Following your brief, I will prepare a sketch of your cover and/or a storyboard for your book interior illustrations, which will be submitted for client's review. In this phase I will already work with a provisional typography.

4) Color Keys

I will paint a rough color key of each picture to give you a good impression of the light, color, mood and general look of the final illustration. This allows me to share my vision but also to collect your feedbacks in an efficient way.

5) Final Illustration / Final Cover

I paint the final illustrations/cover following the artistic direction agreed in the point above. In this round I'll also finalize the typography.

ROUND OF REVISIONS:

My standard process includes two revision rounds per stage. If needed, this can be adjusted to one round to better align with budget constraints.

FEE & CHARGES:

COVER ILLUSTRATION AND DESIGN: starting price 1150 EUR (excl. Reedsy author fee) depending on complexity, typography and back cover design.

FULL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS (incl. cover) : starting price 9000 EUR (excl. Reedsy author fee) depending on complexity, amount of characters, style, output files for publishing.
