Katherine Lam – Designer

I am currently working as a freelance editorial illustrator for magazines and newspapers, and enjoying working on book covers, designs, and other artwork that compliments writing in any form. Clients include the NYTimes, The Guardian, Buzzfeed, and Amazon. Illustrating for books and novels is ultimately my goal.My current work plays with light and shadows, with elements of surrealism to create images that balance both concept and narrative. My work can be seen as dark and melancholic, but I do enjoy creating images that are lighter and happier. I am comfortable with traditional and digital mediums, especially watercolor, and I believe that open communication and collaboration produce the best results.
