Overview
I'm a publicist who has worked on nonfiction and romantic fiction campaigns for dozens of authors. As an author of both myself, and as a journalist, I know the struggles authors face in marketing their books and exactly what moves the needle.
I founded Guide My Brand in 2015 to work with entrepreneurs and nonfiction authors to establish themselves as experts in their niches and become more visible for their expertise through opportunities such as guest blogs, podcast interviews, public speaking engagements, feature articles and media appearances.
I am my own best case study, beginning my career as a corporate attorney and using a combination of blogging, social media, public speaking and media appearances to become a nationally-recognized expert on the business of sports. I left the corporate world to work for such outlets as Forbes and ESPN.
My clients have appeared in such outlets as Forbes, Inc., Fast Company, BuzzFeed, SHAPE, Working Mother, Thrive Global, Huffington Post and more. We also regularly book clients on their local ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC affiliates, national and local radio, as well as leading podcasts. Many of my clients are also experienced public speakers who have been booked for corporate speaking and both national and local events.
In early 2026, I began working with closed door romance authors using everything I've worked as a romance author marketing my own books. I've been both traditionally published and self-published, and I know what it takes to market closed door romances specifically.
Although my focus started with PR, today I combine traditional PR strategies with marketing strategies like social media, working with Bookstagram and BookTok influencers, growing and leveraging your email list and more.
