Experienced, skilled editor of nonfiction books with a deep knowledge of publishing and a passion for working with words.
I work for a publishing services company as a developmental editor and project manager. My role is to develop content of the highest quality and caliber for leading academic publishers, including Pearson, McGraw Hill, Elsevier, Norton, Cengage, and Springer. I have worked on textbooks, online courses, curricula, assessments, and supplemental learning materials in this role. I have edited across disciplines such as nursing, medicine, sociology, psychology, computing, economics, business, law, education, the humanities, and skills and trades. Having worked with diverse publishing clients, I am intimately familiar with the needs and inner workings of the industry.
Brookes Publishing is an independent publisher specializing in books, curricula, and assessments in the fields of education, early childhood, and communication and language development. As associate editor, I worked on numerous bestselling titles from book proposal to finished product and was involved in every stage of the publishing process. I worked closely with authors to develop their ideas into a marketable book proposal, provided substantive feedback on manuscripts as a developmental editor, and performed copy editing and proofreading to polish and perfect books for publication.
I performed copy editing and developmental editing on books in health care, aging, and elder care and also wrote and edited marketing materials, catalogs, and blogs based on bestselling titles.
