Hi, I’m Kelly-Anne a freelance designer based in Reading, UK. I have over 20 years’ experience in publishing creating illustrated, non-fiction books and magazines for all age groups and genres. My passion is designing and creating beautiful craft books and periodicals, and my knowledge of knitting and crochet means that any pattern mistakes can’t escape my beady eyes.
I have worked on many subjects for adults, including; knitting, crochet, dressmaking, jewellery-making, felting, painting, gardening and plants, history and travel, health, fitness and sports. For children I have designed branded/licensed titles including Disney Princess, Disney Pixar, and Horrible Histories, plus, a series on environmental issues. My clients have included Egmont, Crowood Press,Eaglemoss, AA Publishing, Brown Publishing, Franklin Watts, DeAgostini and BBC Worldwide.
In my capacity as a freelance designer, I have worked in-house for publishers, gaining an extensive understanding of the processes. I understand the challenges faced by small and large projects alike, having designed presentations for book fairs and research through to a series of 140+ magazines.
Q: So why should you choose me to design your book?
A: I will take the time to understand what you want, where you want the product placed and your goals for this book. I will then produce ideas for the look and feel of the title and work closely with you through to the finished masterpiece – a literary art with your name on. From the outset, I will guide you through the requirements needed for images, illustrations, copyrights etc, saving you time and money by avoiding having to revisit them. I can also help you with the marketing materials to get your book out into the real world via social media, printed leaflets, posters, bookmarks, stickers, etc.
I am passionate about books and everything they offer so let’s work together and bring your idea to life with a well-designed book that you can be proud of!
