Jules Bond – Designer

I am a passionate book designer with over 10 years experience designing dust-jackets and inside pages of travel and art books

Overview

I am a passionate book and print designer with 10 years experience in working in various forms of publishing from the traditional to the contemporary.

I started my career working for the wonderful Penguin and DK books designing travel books and guides.

I then worked for Sotheby's designing private client books and proposals. It involved cover and interior design as well as slipcase and box design. This was a much more bespoke type of publishing, working on specialist bookbinding, using foils clothes and all types of paper and material. Each project was unique and produced quickly, but very creatively free.

For the past few years I have been designing book jackets for Routledge publishers. Specialising inacademic books, in the fields of humanities, behavioural science, education, law and social science.

I have also been lucky to design a range of children's books, and recently a series of beautiful gallery coffee table books.

I have the ability to quickly grasp concepts, and to work to tight timescales. I like to work closely with authors in order to achieve great results.

Please do contact me if you would like to learn more about my services or if you have any questions.

Thank you very much.

Jules was remarkably patient and thorough during the entire process, quick to make necessary corrections and meticulous in her cover and interior design. I've had no end of comments on how visually attractive the book is, inside and out, a testament to her creativity and skill.

This is the second time I have used Jules services to design a book cover. She's receptive to ideas and it's no issue to make changes so that I'm 100% happy with the end result. She's also happy to have a videocall before starting the work. This makes sure she understood the feeling that is trying to be put across from the artwork to describe a book. I'll be happy to work with her again in the...
