Award-winning writer, researcher and publishing professional
Overview
I am an award-winning writer, researcher and publishing professional. My skills include proof-reading, copy-editing and copywriting. From 2010-2015 I completed a research-council funded PhD in Italian Renaissance Studies, during which time I published articles in major journals, spoke and organised panels at the premier international conferences in the field, and won the University of Birmingham’s Michael K. O’Rourke PhD Best Publication Award. I also spent several months researching in Italian archives and libraries, and am fluent in the language.I then worked for four years in publishing, reaching the level of commissioning editor. As well as signing up significant titles from leading scholars, cultivating relationships with authors and advisors, and carrying out market research, I gained a firm understanding of (and training in) copywriting.Since going freelance I have written copy for websites, reviewed blog articles, edited scripts, created LinkedIn adverts and job descriptions, and edited a children's book. I have also proof-read articles, theses and books.
