Jo Litchfield – Designer

I've been working in publishing for over 20 years, both as a designer and illustrator of children's fiction and non-fiction books, and more recently in character development and story lines for picture books as well as illustration projects for poetry and fiction with more adult themes.

I started as a designer and illustrator for Usborne Books and created 100+ titles with them, since becoming freelance I have worked with a variety of other clients including The Macmillan Group, Floris, Igloo, Egmont UK, Schofield and Sims, Smile Books and Holy Cow Games.

I have illustrated books that have been translated into over 35 languages and sold in the millions worldwide, primarily with 3D models but recently in 2D traditional and digital styles as well, some including simple animated elements. I greatly enjoy working in a variety of mediums so welcome any illustration projects in 3D or 2D, conventional or digital.

An indication of the style required (see examples in my portfolio), a page size and count for picture books or an image count for chapter books is preferred, plus some brief outlines as to the content of the illustrations required (characters, settings etc) is ideal.
