Jennifer Durgan

Jennifer Durgan – Editor

I'm an academic, fiction, and technical editor with more than 20 years' experience in the publishing industry.

Overview

I've worked in publishing for more than two decades, and I'm proud of every plot twist my life has taken. I started in newspaper graphic design and proofreading, and since that time I've edited for academic, trade, and fiction publishers and technical publications companies, and I've written for real estate websites. I enjoy editing everything. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Articles on advertising. Books on agricultural methods. Journal compilations on the therapeutic uses of medicinal marijuana. Short stories. Long novels. Technical manuals for the government. Commercial aviation repair bulletins. Master's theses. Dissertations. The poorly worded e-mails I receive from my relatives. I love the challenge of each project bringing its own problems that need to be solved. I love solving those problems. I love helping authors and companies make their projects the best they can be. I would love to work with you, whether you're an author or another editor. Editing as a profession is like getting a free education. I learn constantly. Life isn't being fully lived if we aren't reading and learning something new every day.
