Overview

I'm a fiction writer and editor based in Los Angeles. I began my adventures in writing and editing back in 2000 as a film critic for several online and print publications. That led me to stints as a copy editor for a number of online entertainment and e-commerce sites as well as film/TV industry trade publications. In 2007, I also received my MFA in fiction from the University of Southern California, graduating with my first novel, "The Leaving of Things," as my thesis. "The Leaving of Things" was published in 2014 by Lake Union Publishing and went on to win reader acclaim, literary awards, and to become an Amazon bestseller. In the years since, I've been working on my follow-up novel while continuing to expand my editing portfolio by working with both first-time authors and college students along with my longtime online clients. I hope to bring my new novel in front of readers in the next year.

As an editor, I've worked with first-time authors on memoirs as well as on novels of various genres, from YA to thriller to fantasy, and with high-school and college students on their essays, plays, and short stories. As an editor, the client calls the shots, and I consider it a primary responsibility to make sure the client feels their voice is preserved, that their writing goals are met, and that they enter the world of publication feeling proud and excited about their accomplishment.
