Iram Allam – Designer

I have nearly 30 years experience in book publishing and specifically in internal book design and layout. I've worked for some of the largest publishers in London namely HarperCollins, Orion Books and Macmillan Publishers. I have worked on big name authors such as Kate Mosse and David Baldacci. I have now been working freelance with my own company since 2019 and I can design your fiction, non-fiction, kids and poetry books. That includes plate sections and endpapers. I can also do family trees and infographics. I especially like designing historical fiction. My design skills are all encompassing as is normal with in-house trade designers.

I have been working with authors for a long time and I'd like to think that I can bring your ideas to life. I normally get a brief and then provide some sample pages for you to approve. Upon approval I will typeset your book and after a maximum 6 rounds of corrections I will provide you with a final print ready pdf and ebook (If required). I am also happy to give advice from the perspective of a traditional publisher. I'm very much a heads down and get it done person and I will often complete a project before the deadline. Please ensure that the text has been checked and edited and is as final as possible, as any corrections that I regard as excessive will be charged on top of the offer.

Please give me as much information about the text as possible ie whether there are headings, how many diagrams need to be done by me, any pictures or illustrations to be supplied or any special design. I think I am pretty knowledgable about publishing and I hope that comes across!
