Griffin Smith – Editor

Book Editor | Fiction Developmental Editor | Copyediting and Proofreading Services.

Overview

I’m an editorial project manager with over 15 years of developmental editing, line editing, and publishing experience.

I have worked as a freelance developmental editor for many book publishers, including Barnes and Noble, Lippincott Williams and Wilkins, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, and Collectors Press, among others.

I specialize in editing fiction (e.g., Crime/Thriller, Science fiction/Fantasy, Dystopian, Action/Adventure, and other genres) as well as creative nonfiction (Memoirs & Biographies).

I offer services in:

Developmental editing
Substantive editing
Manuscript editing
Structural editing
Line editing
Copyediting
Proofreading

I work with first-time writers looking to publish, as well as veteran authors to forge their fiction into magnificent, salable works of art.

I will edit your story completely.

That means I’ll do an editorial assessment, developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading.

After the editing process, I can help you publish your book. I’ll walk you through the hurdles of cover design, formatting, and self-publishing.

I’ll show you how and personally help you make your story into a hardcover, paperback, and/or Kindle eBook.

Allow me to apply my professional editing experience. I will help you take your story from manuscript to market.

Please leave me a message if you need more information or are looking for a specific service. I’ll work with you to develop an editing plan. Ask as many questions as you like, I’m happy to answer them.

Best,
Griffin S.

Mr. S. has been extremely helpful to me in every aspect. I am a non-native English writer and it was my first book, and not only I have used 99% of his changes and suggestions, but also I have learned a lot from him. I'm looking forward to collaborate with him again.

Griffin has been an absolute joy to work with. With much patience he has guided this novice author through the labyrinth of today’s complex publishing world. His insights go well beyond coaching me on the craft of refining and polishing my writing, which was no small task. He has also enlightened me on the business aspect of publishing, and helped me establish a brand from ground zero. I highly...
