Overview

🎨 Distinctive book design that captivates and connects

With 10+ years of experience designing for leading publishers like Penguin Random House, Hachette, DK, and Wonderbly, I now focus on partnering directly with authors to create bold, high-quality designs tailored to each book’s unique vision and audience.

‎ ‎

📚 I specialise in covers that stand out.

My process begins by understanding your story, your goals, and your ideal readers. From there, I build moodboards to lock in a visual direction, before exploring typography: sourcing distinctive typefaces or crafting bespoke hand lettering where needed (you’ll find many examples of this in my gallery).

🎨 Visual storytelling is at the heart of what I do.

Whether working with stock imagery, commissioning custom illustrations, or compositing visuals into striking compositions, I’m resourceful and style-flexible. My background in personalised publishing has honed my ability to adapt to different aesthetics while keeping quality and cohesion at the forefront.

✨ Design services include:

– Cover design (including hand lettering, sourcing and briefing illustrators)

– Interior layout and typesetting

- Print-ready file preparation

🔍 Genres I’m especially drawn to: Lifestyle non-fiction and contemporary fiction, projects where design plays a powerful role in helping ideas come to life and reach the right audience.

🤝 Collaborative, detail-focused, and always deadline-ready. I’d love to help bring your book to life with design that speaks volumes.

⭐️ Past client feedback ⭐️

"I was delighted that Giorgia agreed to design my book. Giorgia created a schedule for the process, stage by stage, which worked well for both of us. We talked over the novel's themes initially. Then, Giorgia sent me some inspiring mood boards which we discussed. From there she came up with several possibilities for my book which were all tempting. She made an e-version for Kindle as well as covers for a paperback and hardback. I've had many compliments on the design. Everyone says, 'what a lovely cover', and other writers have admired it. The whole process was professional, enjoyable and collaborative. I would definitely work with Giorgia again and highly recommend her. " Stephanie Norgate, author of "Hartisborne"

Work experience

Wonderbly

Nov, 2022 — Aug, 2024 (over 1 year)
Between November 2022 and August 2024 I worked alongside the Managing Director to create a new book list aimed at adults. During this time I established a new design team, developed the look and feel for the list, recruited new illustrators to work with us and helped come up with ideas for new products. I am particularly proud of the personalised cocktail book which became a global best-seller soon after launch in Autumn 2024.

Laurence King Publishing

Feb, 2020 — Mar, 2021 (about 1 year)
At Laurence King I was working primarily on the gift list. I worked closely with the managing director, editors and the creative team at MAGMA. I helped develop the range, recruited illustrators, supported a team of designers and designed specific products (see below for a few examples).

I enjoyed working with Giorgia. She was professional, fun, and intuitive about what I needed. She completely satisfied my vision for the cover and I hope to have an opportunity to work with her again. She was always prompt and responsive and has a very keen artistic eye.
