Gareth Collinson

Gareth Collinson – Editor

Experienced, enthusiastic and diligent editor, with over 20 years' experience, who delights in making any writing as good as it can be.

Overview

I'm an experienced freelance editor, who has had previous in-house experience at Scholastic Children's Books and Channel Four Learning, but who has been self-employed for over 20 years.

The main editorial services I provide are:

– copy-editing, to improve readability, fitness of purpose, grammar and punctuation, and to pick up on any glaring plot issues

– proofreading, a last-stage check on designed text for typos, repetition and any final problems

I love the challenge of making writing as good as it can be; I derive special enjoyment from historical fiction (where I get to utilise my History degree) and YA/crossover fiction.

Gareth was fantastic and he went above and beyond, pointing out typos and making a list of words to anglicize for us! He was very helpful, and he was willing to work with schedule changes too.

Gareth was amazing! He selflessly took the time to compare two of my manuscripts line by line after a mistake in the uploading, and proofread as required for the same affordable price. He explained clearly and concisely his process and his feed back was very helpful. Would recommend! :)

For a first time user, Gareth's high quality services came at a fair price. His insights have both managed to improve my work, but also gave me confidence that I'm on the right track to succeed with my project. He answered several of my questions along the way and is a clear, concise communicator. Many thanks for your help.
