Linda Epstein

Linda Epstein – Editor

Literary Agent and Developmental Editor (contemporary/historical/literary fiction, romcom, speculative/SFF, BIPOC, LGBTQ+). Query help, too!

Overview

Hi, I'm Linda (she/her). As a literary agent for over a dozen years I've excelled at developmentally editing my client's work and I'm proud to have worked on many books by Bill Konigsberg, Sarah Suk, M-E Girard, and others, both editorially and bringing them to market. I'm particularly passionate about getting books by marginalized writers onto bookstore shelves. I love working directly with writers so I teach online novel writing courses. As if all of that wasn't enough, I'm also the author of the middle grade novel, Repairing the World (Simon & Schuster, 2022) and co-author of the adult novel, The Other March Sisters (Kensington, 2025).

As someone who wears both hats––publishing professional and author––I know what it takes to get your manuscript in the best shape it can be. If you want honest, direct feedback from someone who is caring and compassionate, I'm the editor for you. I offer manuscript assessments, developmental editing (with and without margin notes), and editing of query letters. I have read thousands of query letters in my work as a literary agent, and I can help you make your query letter shine.

It was wonderful working with Linda. She provided an overview of her thoughts as well as line editing of the first 15 pages. I found her feedback to be encouraging as well as helpful. She raised insightful questions, which have allowed me to be make some pointed edits. I feel my story has benefitted greatly by her review.
