Emma Sjaan Beukers – Designer

Hi there! My name is Em and I am a full time freelance designer and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. I have been a creative my whole life, but have worked in design and illustration for over 7 years. My clients range from small businesses and charities, to international online platforms.

Some previous work experience and clients include Smiggle, Canva, Minus18, PAX Australia and Hachette Kids. I have had the pleasure of illustrating books for self-publishing authors and publishing companies alike, most recently my debut published kids book series, George the Wizard, through Lothian, (Hachette Australia).

While all my illustrations start on paper, I finalise my illustrations digitally with a combination of Procreate, Photoshop and Illustrator, depending on what the project calls for and the scope of my responsibilities.

As I am also an experienced graphic designer, I am well aware of designing and illustrating with print in mind and am comfortable with making promo images for web and social.

I love creating worlds and scenes full of magic, mystery and whimsy with fully realised characters. Anything with dogs, fairies or crystals is so far up my alley you have no idea! I love adding (probably too many) sparkles and glowing orbs to my work!
